Rehabilitation of P.L. 566 Dams in OhioPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Paper number 022121, 2002 ASAE Annual Meeting . Ohio NRCS received Federal dollars in 2000 and 2001 to pilot a dam rehabilitation
program. Three watershed dams needing upgrading and/or repair were selected for the program in
2000. Two of the dams are being upgraded to meet current high hazard criteria by enlarging the
emergency spillways. One of the dams will have the high hazard condition reduced to medium
hazard by relocating two houses and controlling the downstream flood area from future development.
