The objective of this work was to simulate the process of conventional drying (CD) and dryeration (DR) in order to compare costs and performance parameters in both processes. The first program (CD) includes the drying stage and cooling "in situ", while that for DR is made up of a drying only stage in the dryer, plus tempering plus slow delayed cooling by aireation with ambient air.

Both processes were simulated for an airflow of 0.25 kg/m2, and it was observed that that the yields for the DR process were superior to thosse of CD. On average, total costs were 54% higher in CD so this demonstrates the interesting potential of Dryeration for argentine conditions.
