Determination of visco-elastoplastic properties of a powder using cubical triaxial testerPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Paper number 024035, 2002 ASAE Annual Meeting . (doi: 10.13031/2013.9532) @2002Authors: B. Mittal and V. M. Puri Keywords: Cubical triaxial tester, bulk mechanical properties, compression profiles, shear profiles, compression rates A medium pressure (< 42 MPa) flexible boundary cubical triaxial tester was used to determine the mechanical behavior of a spray-dried powder (MZF). Two types of triaxial tests (hydrostatic triaxial compression test and conventional triaxial compression tests) were done on the MZF powder. The fundamental stress-strain engineering parameters (such as bulk modulus, shear modulus, compression index, swelling index and time-dependent properties) of the powder were determined at different isotropic pressure values and three compression rates (0.62 MPa/min, 6.21 MPa/min and 20.69 MPa/min). Statistical correlations (at 95% confidence level) were developed between compression rates, engineering parameters and isotropic pressure of compression. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
