Experiences from field experiments over the last two decades show that by calculation of heat and moisture production in conventional animal houses, it is important to take into account evaporation of water from feed, water and manure. Furthermore, the traditional steady state model for animal heat production should be replaced by a dynamic model, taking into account the diurnal rhythm due to feeding and light regime.
