The Institute of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Engineering at the University of West Hungary have been carried out examinations in connection with site-specific farming by since 1998. Till now, a complete precision farming system from yield monitoring to solid fertilizer distribution have been set up.

For the effective utilization of the site-specific data building up of a GIS is recommended (Pecze, Zs. et al., 2001). In this case the variety of data means difficulty as well, since data transformation is required. However, in case of GIS software the transformation methods are worked out. Much more serious the question with the mapping software which are employed only by the users of precision farming systems. During our experiments the RDS and the Agrocom ACT systems were applied. Each system has special file types with special extensions. The RDS system records a larger database but its software provides only few functions, therefore nothing but yield map can be created from the database collected during the harvest. The Agromap Basic software (Agrocom ACT system) provides much more functions for data processing, but height data are missing from the collected database. Consequently, it seems evident to process the larger database by the better software. Despite import and export functions exist in both program the direct data transfer between them is impossible. The authors introduce the solving of this problem.
