An automatic weighing system was developed and interfaced to a GPS for use during mechanical coffee harvesting. The canvas hopper and load cells system successfully measured crop yield. The obtained results showed a great spatial variability in coffee yield, ranging from 2.1 to 16.0 Mg/ha in a 1.1 hectare plot in a farm in So Paulo state.
