Model AVALOC for Micro-Irrigation Systems, Application to Performance AnalysisPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Pp. 843-849 in Proceedings of the World Congress of Computers in Agriculture and Natural Resources (13-15, March 2002, Iguacu Falls, Brazil) 701P0301.(doi:10.13031/2013.8418)Authors: C. M. G. Pedras, and L. S. Pereira Keywords: Drip-irrigation, Modeling and simulation, Irrigation performances, Design and Evaluation The model AVALOC aims at design and performance analysis of micro-irrigation systems, adopting the sector as the unit for analysis. Model computations are supported by a database on the emitters and pipes, and the sectors being designed or evaluated. In the design mode, the model provides for the selection of pipes and emitters that permit to attain a target performance. In the performance analysis mode, a hydraulics simulation is executed and several system performance indicators are computed. The present paper introduces the model, mainly oriented for the evaluation of systems under operation. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
