The number of online users and buyers are increasing rapidly. This rapid increase raises an important question as to whether agriculture sector is ready for these changes or not. Despite all benefits, rural communities are lagging behind the national average in computer use and Internet access. The main objective of this study was to identify the issues and constraints faced by Tennessee farmers in using computers and Internet for e-commerce. The results indicated that majority of farmers in Tennessee have access to the computers and Internet but few farmers has conducted any transaction on the Internet. Majority of the farmers were reluctant to buy or sell on the Internet due to several reasons. Educational and training programs designed based on specific needs and skill levels will help to enhance adoption of computer technology and prepare agriculture sector for future challenges.
