Data Bank Model for Trials in Agriculture

Modeling or simulation systems are support systems for decision making which play an important role in agribusiness. Forecasting plant growth process they help to optimize production costs, i.e. of fertilizers, and other expenses, obtaining at the same time higher yields and reducing risk of environmental pollution. For obtain reliable results this systems should be provided with reliable and properly organized data when submitted to storage at the data bank. The represented model of data bank of agricultural experiments and system of manipulation of this data were elaborated with support of International Potash Institute, Petrobras and The State of So Paulo Research Foundation - FAPESP. The data bank will unite all information concerning characteristics of climate, soils, landscape and results of diverse agricultural trials, which will be considered necessary for targets of simulation of plant growth process. The structure of this system permits an access to data through Internet using authorized pass. The represented data bank of agricultural trials, as expected, will offer, to the scientific community, farmers, private and state enterprises a new tool in Internet for organize, integrate and store experimental data. This will help to reach major integration of thematic research teams, reduce useless coincidence of similar agricultural experiments and provide a reliable information base for agribusiness.
