Growth and Maturation Models of the Sugarcane as Analysis Tools in the Agricultural Use of the Urban Waste CompostPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Pp. 311-317 in Proceedings of the World Congress of Computers in Agriculture and Natural Resources (13-15, March 2002, Iguacu Falls, Brazil) 701P0301.(doi:10.13031/2013.8346)Authors: Alessandra Fabíola Bergamasco, Fábio Cesar da Silva, Marco Antonio Azeredo Cesar, Ariovaldo Fausto Soares da Silva Keywords: Growth and Maturation Models, Sugarcane, Waste Compost The research approaches the management of waste compost (WC) as alternative fertilizing in the sugarcane and as social and ambient solution. The paper has for objective to foresee the effect of the WC in the growth and maturation processes f the sugarcane using it modeling for bracket to the decision. The Growth Model considered as growth parameter the Leaf Area Index (LAI) and degree-day for time, demonstrating bigger vegetative vigor in sugarcane fertilized with CL supplemented with PK and in 60 and 0 t.ha -1 doses. The maximum LAI was more delayed in the sugarcane that received WC without mineral supplement. For study of the maturation curve 3 models had been studied: Quadratic, Mitscherlich, and Teruel Model. It was concluded that there was a negative influence from dose of WC in the time where the sugarcane reaches the minimum tenor of sugar for industrialization; the excellent reply of the culture in accumulation of sugar occurred in the Teruel Model in the combination of the WC with P or K fertilizing. The Teruel Model, as fit factors, were the best to predict responses in sacarose in the sugarcane. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
