Data on organic pesticides for sorption and transport processes are not available in the literature for south Florida soils. It is essential to characterize these processes in order to predict the potential for contamination of both ground and surface waters. Atrazine and diuron were used as probe chemicals to investigate these processes in calcareous soils of south Florida. Results indicated that batch equilibrium sorption coefficient along with optimized kinetic parameters from column leaching data can be used to describe the transport of the used probe pesticides in Krome and Chekika soils of south Florida.
