Abstract. Climate change significantly affects water resources and water accessibility. The precipitation and temperature are deterministic parameters for predicting the water amount and accessibility. Climate change influences the amount of precipitation and temperature and consequently increases the frequency of drought and flood.

Iran has an arid and semiarid weather condition. We will use the collected data from the climatology stations in the region and hydrological stations of the river to predict future climatic data, applying LARS-WG software, which is a computationally inexpensive downscaling tool.

In this study, we estimated the effect of climate change on river discharge in an arid area in the southwest of Iran. Results illustrated that the amount of precipitation is decreased and the temperature is increased. Therefore, river dischargereducedased and the level of surface water resources in the studied area is severely reduced.
