Modeling and Simulation of Sugarcane Chopper Harvester Extractor

Abstract. The ability to remove impurities efficiently is one of the key indicators for evaluating the performance of sugarcane chopper harvester. However, the impurity rate of sugarcane mixtures harvested by existed harvesters cannot meet the requirement of sugar mills. Physical experiments, references, simulation modeling and other methods were used in the paper, the basic physical parameters of sugarcane billet, sugarcane top and sugarcane leaf as well as the contact parameters between materials and between materials and steel were measured. In addition, sugarcane billet, top and leave were modeled by discrete element method, and rigid unit models were established. Secondly, through the built-in Hertz-Mindlin with Bonding contact model, each unit was bonded together, and then segmented flexible model of sugarcane billet,leaf and top were fromed. Finally, the above model would provide valuable references for operation mechanism research of the sugarcane chopper harvester extractor.
