Abstract. There is a high demand for customization and diversification in the design process of corn combine harvester in China. In view of the problems of long design and development cycle, the structure design method of corn ear harvesterr-header based on knowledge engineering was put forward , and finally we conducted a fast design of header. First of all, based on the design standards and specifications of agricultural machinery, the general design process of header was established. Secondly, based on the design of corn ear harvester-header and the design of knowledge engineering rapidization, the classification, expression and storage of design knowledge were studied. Finally, on the platform of MFC and Creo, we integrated design knowledge base, inference machine and parametric model. Then we constructed the design system of corn ear harvester-header, and a fast design of it was implemented. The study realized the fast design of corn ear harvester-header, improved the design and development efficiency of it. It was expected to provide technical reference and support for improving the intelligence level of typical complicated agricultural machinery equipment in China.
