Abstract. Bionics is a design method that improve or invent new product or technology by imitating the structure, theory, behavior and function of biological system and integrating those characteristics into the process of design and manufacturing. At present, bionic design has been widely used in drag reduction and wear resistance of agricultural machinery, moreover bionic intelligence has been preliminarily explored in order to help developing agricultural machinery from simple mechanization to automation and intelligence. In this paper, we attempts to summarize the researches and progresses of agricultural machinery on bionic wear resistance, bionic drag reduction, bionic form and bionic intelligence from the perspective of the modern industrial design. Our analysis and research show that bionics will play an important role in wear resistance, drag reduction, automatic control and unmanned operation of agricultural machinery. The design of bionic wear resistance and bionic drag reduction, which can effectively solve the two technical problems of severe wear and resistance of farming machinery and tillage machinery, can benefit to energy conservation and emissions reduction of agricultural machinery and extend the service life of the machine; Bionic form endows agricultural machinery with novelty and interest, which can effectively improve product competitiveness and brand awareness; Bionic intelligent design is helpful to the automation, precision control and safety improvement of agricultural machinery. The bionic design has provided a broad direction for the innovative design of agricultural machinery, which has important theoretical value and practical significance for optimizing product performance and building excellent agricultural machinery.
