Abstract. Drum drying is widely used in industry to dry food or high-temperature calcination. In order to achieve a better heat transfer effect, lifters are added to the inner wall of the drum to promote the movement of particles to accelerate the heat transfer rate of the particles. In this work, the DEM method was used to test the effect of different shapes of lifters on the heat transfer of particles in the drum. From the results, it can be seen that the heat transfer performance of the board to the particles has a great influence on the heat transfer performance of the drum drying, and as the shape of the board changes, the contact area between the particles and the wall of the drum increases, and the heat transfer performance of drying is better.
