Design of vineyard obstacle avoidance weederPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: 2020 ASABE Annual International Virtual Meeting 2000511.(doi:10.13031/aim.202000511)Authors: Hongda Wang, Yong You, Ziwen Guo, Xuening Zhang, Jie Lv, Xu Bai Keywords: Grapes ;Weeder ;Obstacle avoidance; Weeding between plants; Mechanical weeding Traditional weeding in vineyards only involves weeding between rows, and the subsequent inter-plant weeding problem brings new costs to grape production. In order to solve the problem of weeding between rows and plants, and to reduce the production cost of grapes, this paper has designed a barrier-free weeder that can perform weeding operations between rows and plants at the same time. The design uses a hydraulic system and a mechanical system to cooperate with each other, and is equipped with an obstacle avoidance control system, which can realize weeding between rows and weeds between plants, while avoiding damage to plants and removing weeds in the vineyard at one time. The machine is accurate in weeding between plants and can quickly avoid obstacles, greatly reducing the production cost of grapes and improving the weeding efficiency of the vineyard.
