Optimized Design of Cone-hole Wheel Type Seed Metering Device Based on EDEMPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: 2020 ASABE Annual International Virtual Meeting 2000501.(doi:10.13031/aim.202000501)Authors: Peng Xu, Yong You, Decheng Wang, Xianshun Sun, Jie Lv, Wenpeng Ma, Xuening Zhang, Zhiguo Ma, Hongyi Lin Keywords: alfalfa , seed metering device,EDEM, optimization Abstract:An outer grooved wheel type seeding device was designed. In order to optimize the seeding stability of the seed metering device, the EDEM software was used to numerically simulate the seeding process. Taking the rotation speed, groove width and groove depth as test factors, the variation coefficient of row stability was used as the test index, and the three-factor quadratic rotation orthogonal combination simulation test was carried out. The results show that when the rotation speed of the seeding wheel is 38 rpm, the groove width is 6 mm, and the groove depth is 6.1 mm, the coefficient of variation of the seeding plant stability can be less than 10%.
