Abstract. Permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) of machine tools has a slot on the core surface of the rotor and the surface of the stator core is smooth, so the slot effect of the PMLSM for machine tools should be considered when calculating the magnetic field. Three models were established: The Equivalent Current model of PMLSM based on Equivalent Magnetizing Current (EMC), a three-phase winding current model of magnetic analysis based on Fourier Transform, and the slot effect model of air gap magnetic field of PMLSM by Schwarz-Christoffel Transformation. Due to a small ratio between slot width and slot pitch, so can ignore the mutual influence between the slots. Based on the analysis of the magnetic field generated by the permanent magnet acts alone and the magnetic field generated by the electric current winding acts alone, with the equivalent magnetic conductance model established by the slot effect, the air gap magnetic field distribution of the PMLSM can be obtained. Compared to the finite element method, the air gap magnetic field generated has verified validity of these three models, which has built the base for the accurate calculation of magnetic field.
