Abstract. Leymus chinensis is a kind of gramineous plant widely grown in northern China. The nutrient substance of Leymus chinensis is rich and it is the main forage resource on the grassland. This plant has a strong vitality, it can grow well in the plains, slopes and sandy loam. This paper summarized the current development of Leymus chinensis in various fields through the on-the-spot investigation and experimental research. Then put forward the problems in the development of the Leymus chinensis industry and gave some suggestions.
