Abstract. Objective The distribution and pollution degree of pesticide residues in Shanxi Province and the basic data provided for the quality and safety supervision of apple were studied. Method The apples in 25 agricultural bases of Shanxi province were collected, and the 80 kinds of frequently-used pesticide residues in apple were detected by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(GC-MS/MS) and ultra performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS), then the risk of acute dietary intake (%ARfD) and the risk of chronic dietary intake (%ADI) and risk ranking were detected, and the risk index of the pesticides was statistically analyzed. Results Eleven kinds of pesticide residues were found, the detection rate was 100%. However, neither the exceeded pesticide residues nor the unregistered pesticide was found in all the samples. The detection rate of Carbendazim was up to 84%. The %ARfD and %ADI of the detected pesticides were much less than 100%. Conclusions The pesticide residues of apple in Shanxi Province were mainly in the safe range and showed a low risk level. However, attention should be paid to the frequent use of Carbendazim.
