Abstract. The Chrysanthemum morifolium is sweet and bitter, and its characteristics are slightly cold. It has the effect of clearing heat, smoothing liver and eyesight, detoxifying and eliminating swelling and so on. It is a common Chinese medicine, its products are well sold at home and abroad. The planting pattern of chrysanthemum is divided into dense planting and strip planting, and the plant height is different, which leads to the complex picking conditions. At present, it is basically artificial picking, the efficiency of picking is low, and the labor intensity is great. This paper summarizes the existing Chrysanthemum morifolium picking machine advantages, disadvantages and its application, and according to the growth characteristics of Chrysanthemum morifolium, designed a comb picking machine. In addition, after harvesting, Chrysanthemum morifolium should be processed in time (including killing green and drying, etc.). The quality of Chrysanthemum morifolium, including the appearance quality of Chrysanthemum morifolium, enzyme activity and the content of volatile oil, depends largely on the processing technology. Therefore, this paper summarizes the traditional and modern Chrysanthemum morifolium processing equipment and technology, compares the advantages and disadvantages of vacuum pulse blanching machine, high temperature and high humidity gas jet blanching machine and microwave drying equipment. This paper puts forward some ideas for improving the existing problems of modern Chrysanthemum morifolium drying equipment. It provides new technical guidance for the mechanical picking and processing of Chrysanthemum morifolium.
