The Design and Test of the Artemisia Argyi Leaf-removing Machine

Abstract.

Artemisia argyi is a kind of herbaceous plant, mainly distributed in North China, Northeast China, South China, Southwest, East China, et al. They have great medicinal value and edible value. Artemisia argyi can clean dampness, hemostasis, control the pain, activate blood circulation, dredge the channels and collaterals, etc. Because the different ingredients of stems and leaves, the value of the leaves is far greater than the stems. So they need to be separated and re-processed. However, the production of artemisia argyi separation mechanization is in a low level of the current market. There is no special machinery for the separation of stems and leaves. The artificial stripping leaves method is of low efficiency and high cost, which seriously restricts the development of artemisia argyi industry. Therefore, a machine is urgently needed to realize the separation of leaves and stems, promote the development of artemisia argyi industry.

Based on the research of related literatures, this paper confirmed the overall scheme of the machine, which included the defoliation device, the transmission device and the separation and collection device. In this paper, the prototype was manufactured and the verification tests were carried out, which proved the feasibility of the design and the value of artemisia argyi leaf-removing machine.
