Abstract. The effect of screw press speed (SPS) and screw choke gap (SCG) on Palm Kernel Oil yield was investigated in this study, using factorial experimental design. Experimental data were analyzed with Design-Expert statistical software. The SCG (within the range (1.85 to 4.23 mm)) studied, produced marginal differences in palm kernel oil (PKO) yield. Analysis of results showed that the values of the screw press variables for high PKO yield are: SCG of 1.85 mm and SPS of 56 rpm. The result of this study would be useful for rational design and development of palm kernel oil screw press.
