Abstract. China is the largest consumer and exporter of peanuts. The total output of peanut in China ranks first in the world. But most of peanut shell were discarded or burned, resulting in enormous waste of resources and environmental pollution. In order to make better use of peanut shell, this paper mainly studies the friction characteristics of peanut shell powder. Mesh screens of 1.5mm, 1mm and 0.6mm were used to get three particle sizes of peanut powder .This paper studied the the influence of different moisture on friction characteristics. Through the shear test of peanut shell powder, we can clearly see that with the increase of moisture content, the angle of friction between the plate and the three different sizes of materials will become large. The relationship between the size of adhesion and moisture content of peanut shell powder is not obvious.
