Abstract. The concept and development of traditional farmers and new professional farmers were studied in this paper. The classification and characteristics of agricultural mechanization decision were also discussed. Based on statistical analysis of field survey data, the differences of agricultural mechanization decision-making between traditional and new professional farmers were compared from income of farmers, farm machinery purchase, leasing, operation and maintenance, etc. On this basis, agricultural mechanization decision mechanism was analyzed from decision-making method and decision-making processes.
