Abstract. The steel-roll of traditional steel-roll round bale are in a circle arrangement. There are plugging problems during operational process. To solve the problems, a new type of round bale device with logarithmic spiral geometric features was designed. This device consists of a preloading feeding mechanism and the logarithmic spiral type secondary extrusion mechanism. Then make a control experiment by EDEM with crushed corn stalks whose moisture content is 75%. The results show that using the logarithmic spiral feed preloading feeding mechanism with the pressure angle of 10 °, feeding uniformity is significantly improved compared with the circular cavity. The logarithmic spiral type secondary extrusion mechanism with a pressure angle of 10 ° can shorten the bundling time and improve the working efficiency.
