A regression model for fuel consumption

Abstract. This paper focuses on developing an accurate, compact and efficient multiple regression model for fuel consumption. After several attempts to fit multiple models, a multiple linear regression was chosen among all the models. The model is: log10 mpg = 7.955e-01-1.261e-04*weight+1.181e-02*model.year+1.873e-02*origin. From the result of the test, this model can predict the fuel consumption well. This paper provides a linear regression relationship to predict the fuel consumption.
