Abstract. In order to analyze materials‘ state of motion in round baler chamber, and explore the relationship between materials‘ state of movement and structure of bale chamber, based on the existing research, this paper use EDEM to analyze and simulate the materials‘ trajectory in the bale chamber, carry on mechanical analysis of materials in different positions of the bale chamber, the results showed that the process of forming round bales can be regarded as the materials enlaced in layer and rotated, then enlarged gradually, the materials‘ movement in the chamber can be divided into two stages, which is the forming stage of the bale core and the stage of bale core expended in the chamber. So the theoretical basis about the relationship between materials‘ state of movement and structure of the bale chamber can be provided. And it‘s also helpful to establish the motion model of materials in the bale chamber.
