The objective was to apply the statistics process control (SPC) method into the pellet feed quality management, so as to improve the stability of pellet feed. The hardness of pellet feed that continuously produced in a feed mill in April, 2016 is selected as the object and analysis on the base of SPC method by drawing control chart, computing capability index and monitoring the quality of pellet feed. The result shows that: 5 points are out of UCL and all the points are above of the CL in the X-bar chart; while they have a normal fluctuation in the R chart, which means they have big difference between different groups, although the quality consistency of the product meets the requirements. The changes of manpower, machine and material in the process should be focused on. The results suggest that SPC can be used for pellet feed quality management, analysis the stability and capability of the process, judge it whether meet the requirements of enterprise product quality standards; SPC can monitor the production process; detect the abnormal fluctuations in the process of production quickly, so that take active measures to eliminate abnormal factors, keep the quality of pellet feed consistency.
