Abstract. A computer model was developed to simulate dispersion and deposition of spray droplets from an airblast sprayer used in citrus orchard application. The model was developed using a compartment modeling approach, implemented in MATLAB, and presented in previous publications. Field validations showed good prediction performance for both dispersion in an open field and deposition on tree canopies. This paper presents recent efforts in code improvement as well as some simulation results and analysis. Major changes to the process of atomization, the determination of sprayer outlet air velocity, and the process of evaporation are discussed. The improvements were meant to enhance user-friendliness of the model as well as to improve efficiencies of routines in the program. Future model implementation will be expanded to include other crops such as grape, apple, and peach.
