Abstract. This study was carried out to utilize mechanized agriculture policies in the future by analyzing and surveying Korea's agricultural machinery operation rate. A nationwide survey of 1500 farmers in 300 villages was conducted. Surveyed crops were a total of 11, including rice.
The results of the latest survey revealed that the mechanization rate of rice farming was high with 97.8% and that for upland-farming was relatively low with 56.3%. Especially, the machinery rate of sowing, transplanting, and harvesting operations lacks very much. In conclusion, the promotion of the development and distribution of agricultural machinery for upland farming, political support is required, such as infrastructure maintenance of field mechanization, build-up of a system of joint use of agricultural machinery, etc.
