Experimental Study on Motor Driven Pneumatic Precision Seed-metering Device For MaizePublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: 2015 ASABE Annual International Meeting 152189758.(doi:10.13031/aim.20152189758)Authors: Zhijie Liang, Dongxing Zhang, Li Yang, Tao Cui, Yongliang Hao Keywords: precision seed-metering device, maize, motor driven, contrast test Abstract. Aiming at the unstable planting distance and poor adaptability to the working environment caused by the wheel slip and beating of chain, the motor was installed in the primary pneumatic maize precision seed-metering device and the metering plate was driven by the motor to eliminate the wheel drive’s impact on the planting quality. Contrast test was done between motor driven pneumatic seed-metering device and wheel driven pneumatic seed-metering device to compare the performance in different levels of air pressure. The test took quality feed index, miss index and multiple index as working performance evaluation. The results showed that there is no significant difference in seeding quality between two types transmission system and motor driven transmission system is feasible for metering device. The optimum pressure values were recommended at 1.5-2.5kPa. The results could provide theoretical basis for practice and give a guide to experiment and production. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
