Abstract. Yak dung after being air-dried is a good fuel energy source in the Tibet Plateau. However, it is a hard work for women in this place to pick up yak dung by hand. In this paper, a yak dung pick up forklift was designed to enable women in the Tibet Plateau to use machinery to pick up yak dung instead of hand. A shovel was designed to pick up yak dung and crank-rocker mechanisms were designed to deliver the yak dung from shovel to storage case. The machine was performed in ADAMS / View to simulate for optimal condition. According to the result of simulation, a yak dung pick up forklift was manufactured and then tested in the Tibet Plateau. The test showed that the machine worked well and met the design requirements.
