Abstract. Yak dung after being air-dried is a good fuel energy source in the Tibet Plateau. However, it is a hard work for women in this place to pick up yak dung by hand. In this paper, a yak dung pick up forklift was designed to enable women in the Tibet Plateau to use machinery to pick up yak dung instead of hand. A shovel was designed to pick up yak dung and crank-rocker mechanisms were designed to deliver the yak dung from shovel to storage case. The machine was performed in ADAMS / View to simulate for optimal condition. According to the result of simulation, a yak dung pick up forklift was manufactured and then tested in the Tibet Plateau. The test showed that the machine worked well and met the design requirements.(Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
