Abstract. Rice is one of the key crops in China. The precise sowing of rice has been attracted much more attentions. The metering device for precise sowing of rice affects influentially the quality of the precision sowing. The techniques for improving the sowing performance are considered to be a basic problem in this research field. The precision metering device composed of the vibration and vacuum components can meet the precision requirements of the rice and vegetable sowing. Thereof, The elastic vibration characteristics of the vibrating table of the precision seed metering device is the key part to throw the seeds uniformly. This work focuses on the modal analysis of the vibrating table by Finite element method(femap with NX Nastran). Compared the calculated results with those of the tests, we concluded that the model was effective. After the modal response analyses, the optimum parameters for vibration were obtained by orthogonal experimental design and the optimization was verified by tests.The results showed that the vibrating table presented good dynamic characteristics when the spring stiffness, eccentricity and the frequency were 53.82 N/mm, 1.5mm and 18.5Hz, respectively. The vibration intensity can meet the conditions of seeds’ "boiling" movement .The rate of qualified sowing was > 90% when the vibrating frequency is between 16.4Hz and 20.9Hz.
