Abstract. The balance of the carbon cycle could be broken after typical grassland disturbed by artificial disturbance technology.For this purpose, the soil samples were retrieved on the grassland in Hulun Buir which was disturbed through artificial methods before 3 months and 11 months.All the samples including control samples were analyzed to determine whether there were significant differences before and after artificial disturbance in different soil layer depths.It can be find that:(1)the carbon content has changed on the surface layer after the artificial disturbance and it illustrates that artificial disturbance method has positive effect on carbon storage;(2) there are no significant differences under the soil layer of 50 cm;(3)the carbon content decreases with the soil depth increasing.
