Mobility is essential for those who manage most modern farm operations. A farmer who does not have relatively easy access to his or her crops, livestock, and/or facilities is at a distinct disadvantage compared to other producers, and can experience major losses due to inadequate supervision of their operation. The purpose of this paper is to (1) point out the barriers that exist for farmers with mobility impairments, including spinal cord injuries, lower limb amputations, arthritis, hip replacements, hemiplegia, Multiple Sclerosis, and Cerebral Palsy; (2) offer possible solutions for specific mobility problems; and (3) provide information on other resources related to outdoor mobility.
