The use of irrigation piping systems has grown significantly in recent years driven by water shortage and the need to optimize the growth of the global food supply. In the production of piping products, depending on the application standard being utilized, producers options for UV stabilizations include black compounds or a blend of a natural compound with a black master batch. For irrigation piping systems in North America, the piping products are generally manufactured using the latter process. In order to improve the product quality, a study involving a natural compound supplier, a black master batch supplier, and an irrigation pipe manufacturer was conducted to evaluate the impact of material components on irrigation pipe performance.
