Structural Optimization and Modal Analysis for the Framework of Herbage Cutting and Chopping MachinePublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: 2012 Dallas, Texas, July 29 - August 1, 2012 121341138.(doi:10.13031/2013.42064)Authors: Sangni Cai, Decheng Wang, Hongbin Ren, Hongfang Yuan, Guanghui Wang, Wencheng Huang Keywords: Herbage, Cutting, Chopping, Framework, Modal analysis, Optimum Abstract:With the fast development of stockbreeding, the demand for herbage is increasing year by year. The herbage cutting and chopping machine is designed to improve the utilization rate of herbage. Since the framework of the machine is the non-working part, for the purpose of reducing the cost, it's necessary to simplify its structure on the premise of satisfying the strength requirement and avoiding possible resonance. In this paper, we introduce a herbage cutting and chopping machine, the framework structure of which need to be optimized. Firstly, the frame is analyzed by ANSYS. Through modal analysis, we obtain the critical speed that can lead to the possible resonance. According to analysis results, we optimize the frames structure, which improves the stress state, simplifies the structure and avoids the possible resonance. This work provides reliable theoretical basis for the design and improvement of the framework. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
