A remote operation and controlling wireless sensor monitoring network was built basing on self-developed wireless soil moisture sensors. The network includes four parts: wireless sensor nodes which are deployed in the orchard, cluster base station, wireless gateway and remote server. The wireless sensor nodes are self-developed collections of new patented wireless frequency moisture sensor WFMS, the cluster base station is ARM-based data acquisition and command controlling module, the wireless gateway is constituted by SMS gateway and long-distance transmission controlling module, all data and information are gathered to a remote server located at university through wireless gateway. This paper reports the deployment, process and results of continuous experiments at Zengcheng Farm basing on the soil moisture sensor network in several months. Experiments show the network could long-term collect water information once in every two hours.
