Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) become an important issue such as environmental monitoring, home or factory automation, logistics and so on. Many Wildland fires cause to damage on forest and a mountain which have valuable natural resources. Current detection systems use a camera, an infrared sensor system and a satellite system. These systems cannot support real-time surveillance, monitoring and automatic alarm. The MNWFD (Multi-sensor Networks for Wildland Fire Detection) is partially funded by the Guangdong Technology Community through the projects. This paper reports a wireless multi-sensor network deployment framework for forest fire detection which mixes sensors such as temperature, humidity, wind direction/speed and detects smoke with cameras in a wireless network in order to forecast fire in forest areas of the Guangzhou Forest Park. The other primary objective is the development of an advanced multi-sensor data fusion scheme which used to reason about the probability of fire in a geographic area covered by temperature, humidity, wind direction/speed and vision.
