Keywords:   Gully erosion, Rainfall erosivity

Gully erosion is an ancient and important worldwide problem capable of dramatically increasing sediment yields when active. Rainfall erosivity is a key variable in this phenomenon. However, there are few studies that explore the relationship between rainfall erosivity and gully erosion. Therefore, the purpose of this work was (i) to evaluate the performance of several daily rainfall erosivity models to estimate the RUSLE EI30 index; and (ii) to relate gully erosion rates with rainfall erosivity.
