Design and Investigation of Ultra-low Volume Centrifugal Spraying System on Aerial Plant Protection

The remote-control helicopter is used in an attempt to describe the characteristics including convenient flight, small plots and low altitude operation, which has a wide application on the aerial spray. Aerial spraying system is designed based on the Eagle 3 helicopter, which includes a rack connected with the helicopter, kits, electric pump and centrifugal spray nozzle. it also has three characteristics: less medication, homogeneous atomization and less drift. The principles of centrifugal atomization and effect elements are analyzed to design a system of around plate centrifugal atomization and carry out a series of experiments. Data for the research shows: droplets diameter 80~150m, spraying volume 1.2~2Lmin-1, and motor speed 3000~12000r min-1. Then the test on rice is carried out using this system matched with Eagle3. Data shows that when the rice area is 40,000 square meters, spray time is 36 min, 60 liters of pesticides consumed. The efficient gets increased and the volume deceased. For the attainment phenomenon, the droplets can be attached to back of the target to improve the adhesion rate but also significantly reduce spray drift. The results show that droplet distribution will be more homogeneous, droplet deposition effect well, and environmental pollution will be reduced, in the application of the remote-control helicopters and ultra-low volume spraying system, it also improves the efficiency of agriculture and forestry pest control, and will play a very important role in the agriculture, forestry pest control.
