THIS study revealed little value from any of three methods of aerating bermudagrass sod. The two farm implements most commonly used for aeration, the disc and chisel plow, caused severe yield reductions in four of six tests and no significant increases in yield in any of the tests. A spike-tooth roller produced insignificant yield increases in four of six tests, and reductions in two tests. Nitrogen fertilization had essentially no effect on yield responses to aeration...(Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
