The AerWay conservation tillage implement is manufactured by SAF-HOLLAND Equipment Ltd. in Norwich, Ontario. The AerWay system is used in a wide range of soil cultivation applications from golf greens and fairways through to farm and ranch tillage. The SSD (Sub-Surface Deposition) attachment for the AerWay provides precision application of manure and nutrients. The AerWay prepares the soil by fracturing any compaction in the structure and creates pockets in the soil, disrupting the paths for downward migration of the slurry into field tile and providing a loose soil environment to promote the intimate contact of the slurry with the soil particles, thus capturing the nutrients and reducing losses and accompanying odor. The SSD processes the slurry from the dragline to give precise distribution across the width of the application path and place the slurry in uniform bands in the AerWay tine path. The hardware associated with the SSD has been developed to promote the best practice for protecting the soil, water and air and enable the high productivity in the field for the applicator by facilitating fast set up and clean up of the equipment in the field.
