The main objective is to design and implementation of Air pollution measuring portable device to measure air pollution in term of Pollution Performance Index (PPI) g\h(w The device consists of straw collecting mechanism and a sensation system (SS). The device prototype has ^been implemented and calibrated at ^a workshop in Agriculture Engineering Research Institute (AEnRI), and ^a local workshop in Giza Governorates. It was tested in the term at wheat season 2008/2009 to measure the air pollution resulted from wheat threshing operations. Many experiments were carried out and data was collected at different distances from the threshing machines to cover an area of 140 80 m and at heights which changed from ground surface 0.75, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0 m. The experimental results showed that the weight of suspended straw decreases as the distance from the machine increases. Finally it can be concluded that the proposed portable device achieves its function property. One of the main advantageous futures is the ability of using the proposed portable instrument to measure pollution at different heights. Many experiments were run in the laboratory and field to calibrate the new design instrument. The results from laboratory calibration found the relationship between the weight on spring steel sensor (gm) (a gram is abbreviated as g, not gm) and Read of spring steel sensor by using ^a PCD device (micro-strain)
