ANION EXCLUSION DURING TRANSPORT OF CHLORIDE THROUGH SOIL COLUMNSPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Transactions of the ASAE. 43(6): 1425-1430. In this article, we shall discuss the results obtained from the displacement of chloride through soil columns. The anion exclusion phenomenon is modeled using one region convective dispersion equation and the two region anion exclusion model of van Genuchten (1981) which is conceptually similar to Krupp et al. (1972). Both the models were successful in describing the transport processes. The reduction in anion exclusion volume was observed when pore water velocity was increased and the breakthrough curves shifted towards one pore volume. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
