Obstruction Evaluation Of Drippers Due To The Application Of Vinasse

In order to evaluate the flow rate disturbance in drippers due to the intermittent application of vinasse an experiment was carried out in a bench test of the Department of Biosystems Engineering, University of So Paulo. Four emitters models were utilized with water outlet facing upward and downward. Ten drippers were selected for each model to monitor the flow rate according to time. The vinasse application was done daily for four hours with a resting period of 20 hours. At every 168 accumulated hours of testing an individual flow rate measurement was done. The pressure test was kept at 150 kPa during the whole experiment. For the flow rate measurement the gravimetric method was performance with water being collected during five minutes. Emitters models HY (0,65 L h-1) with drippers positioned upward and downward, HY (1,0 L h-1) facing upward and DN (1,6 L h-1) facing upward showed a coefficient of variation of emitter flow (CV) lower than 5% during the experiment (maximum classification). The remaining models presented flow rate variation coefficient between 5 and 10% and were classified as good.
