Abstract: The goal of most mechanical/chemical liquid solids separation systems being placed on Dairy Production facilities is to generate solids for bedding material or compost, reduce transport cost, and decrease the amount of nutrients in the liquid fraction. References can be found in the literature and from manufacturers that provide data on the performance of these systems when dealing with the raw waste stream. However, few deal with the performance of mechanical/chemical liquid solids separation systems when they are used to treat material from anaerobic digesters.
