One of the thrusts of the Integrated Automation for Sustainable Specialty Crops Farming project funded by USDA is focused on the development of precision spraying technologies for improving canopy coverage and penetration while reducing chemical usage and spray drift. The project involves the development of a computer controlled citrus sprayer which can react in real time to information about the tree canopy.
